Seminars, Guest Lectures and Workshops

The IQAC in association will the departments conducted various Seminars and Workshops to qualify the students with practical knowledge of their respective subjects. In the academic year 2017 – 2018 the following programmes were conducted.

  • The Department of English organized a Guest lecture on Literature and Films – Interpretations and Influences held on the 7th of March 2018. The keynote address delivered by Mrs. Ivy Manohara, Founder Athena Academy. The resource person was Dr. Sudharshan, Professor and Head of the Department of English, APS College, Bangalore. He is also an actor.
  • The Department of Kannada organised a Guest Lecture on the topic Kannada Saahitya Beledhu Bandha Bags Haagu IAS, KAS Spardhatmaka Pareeskhegala Siddhatheya Thataarike Bagegina Kramagalu on 20 th September 2017. The resource person was Dr. Manjunath, Head Department of Kannada, Maharani's College of Science and Arts Bengaluru.
  • The Department of Tamil organised a Guest Lecture on Semmozhli Tamil Illakiya Sirapurai, on 6 th April 2018. The guest speaker was Prof. Vanangaamudi, Retd, Professor, Chairman and Correspondant, Sathyam College of Arts and Science, Chengam, Chennai.
  • The Department of Microbiology organised Guest lectures on the topics Antibiotics, and The Hunt for an Antibacterial Drug on 21 st March 2018. The guest speakers were Mrs. Bhuvana Kannan, Manager for the Regulatory Cell of International Marketing and Ms. Srividya
  • The Department of Botany conducted a Guest lecture on the 21 st of March 2018 on the topic Green Auditing and the Application of Appropriate Technologies for Sustainable Development. The resource speaker was Dr. Ramachandra, Coordinator for Energy and Wetlands Research Group, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
  • The Department of Management and Economics together organized a Guest Lecture on the topic Green Banking, on 1st October 2018. The guest speaker was Mr.Prahalad Choudary. The students were updated with the importance of green banking and how it will contribute to good of environment sustainability.
  • The Chemistry department conducted a Guest lecture on the topic Changing Trends in Chemistry on 21 st March 2018. The resource person was Dr.N.C. Subramanian, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Acharaya Pathasala College of Arts and Science
  • Guest Lecture on Introduction to GST act by Dr. Anil Kumar, NMKRV College by the department of Commerce. He gave a thorough insight about introduction to the GST Act. The session was beneficial to 150 B.com students.
